Installation instructions and tips for care

The motorcycle covers and covers are made of polyester resin and reinforced with fiberglass, carbon fiber or carbon. The upper layer consists of a UV-stable polyester gel coat in RAL shade or a transparent version. This coating can be maintained with conventional autocosmetics, small scratches can be polished with fine auto lacquer polishing pastes.

Notes for the storage, assembly and use of motorcycle panels and covers of FiMa Racingparts

  1. The panel parts shall be subjected to the incoming check, which shall check whether the parts ordered by you are not damaged and correct. The parts are only for racing without road registration.
  2. Before processing, the panel parts are 24 hours in a room with a temperature of 18°C Grade and 27°C Grade to store.
  3. Check on the motorcycle whether all mounts are available for the motorcycle cover and are not twisted or bent.
  4. Apply the trim parts to the motorcycle without drilling and cutting whether the panel fits the motorcycle (for drilled and cut parts no complaint is accepted!) For some motorcycle types, auxiliary holders are to be produced. The closed parts for capturing the oil need not be compatible with the exhaust manifold or exhaust system they have installed!

Tips: If the elbow sits too close to the lower part you should heat the GFK at this point easily (max. about 35-45o C) and express something. A heat protection mat can be created against too much heat on the lower part, this is glued into the lower part. In addition, a heat protection band can be wound around the elbow.

  1. The mounting points on the frame correspond to those of the original line, but are not pre-drilled so that the fitting of the individual panel parts z.B. in the case of bent holders is simplified.

  2. Any painting of the disguise must be carried out only after the complete drilling and the rehearsal assembly of the disguise on the motorcycle. Then disassemble, degreas and grind under water with fine sanding paper (z.B. 400), cement small unevennesses with polyester cement, grind again, degrease and coat them with conventional auto lacquers.

  3. Unpainted trim parts made of GFK must be provided with a suitable primer prior to possible painting, before closing small pores with a spatula kit or spray plaster. This also applies to parts made of Avio-Fiber and Carbon.

    BITTE BEACH!

NO TROCKING BEI TEMPERATURES ON 30oC

  4. Panels shall be mounted at a temperature of 15oC to 27oC in such a way that they cannot deform

Installation instructions

Mounting of the panel:

During the assembly of most disguises, you start at the bottom, that is to say first the lower part is adapted and mounted on two middle holding points. After the first part is fixed, the other components are gradually mounted and aligned to one another. (Bringing with screws on the motorcycle from bottom to top) The pane is then installed in the upper part. As last holes, the holders for the mirrors are marked and drilled. During serial cutting, the two side parts come first and then the top.

To create a change of shape (z.B. if tensions have arisen) heat the parts carefully and remain in the desired position until the material is cooled. (Thus the change becomes permanent, max. 30 – 35 o C) Also letting the engine run heats the disguise and can cause a change.

Mounting of the front wing:

Drilling points for the fork with a 2mm drill “center” before drilling, then drilling with an approximately 6.5 – 7 mm drill. Now align the fender on the fork and premount it. Now mark the drilling points on the brackets for the brake hoses, cut off the fenders again and then, as described above, make the bores at the marked points. After that, you can finally mount the fender.

Mounting of rear wheel cover:

We cannot mention a general procedure for mounting a rear wheel cover. In the case of a rear wheel cover with chain protection, it is important first to align the chain protection and to mark, drill and fasten this side. Then align after the middle of the tire and mark, drill and fasten the fastening points on the other side.

Mounting of motor ceilings, frame and vibration protection:

Clutch, Lima and oil pump lids are glued with heat-resistant silicone (min. 110-125oC) Apply the silicone mass only at points in order to facilitate subsequent disassembly. Frame protectors and swing protectors can also be fastened either with double-sided Velcro or with normal silicone mass. With different models, cable ties are sufficient, which can be hidden under the disguise.

Apply the silicone mass only at points here in order to facilitate subsequent disassembly. In order to achieve the best possible contact of the frame protectors or swing protectors, please fix them after sticking to several cable ties. Motor cover can be attached to the engine block with wide adhesive tape while the silicone compound is dry.

After about 24 hours of drying time, you can remove the adhesive tapes and superfluous cable ties again.
